Francis Baptiste, the Syilx singer-songwriter whose voice has become a vessel for Indigenous truth and lived testimony, presents his latest album “Lived Experience in East Vancouver,” a searing portrait of survival in East Vancouver.
This grounding has been a hallmark of Baptiste’s artistry. His debut album ‘Sneqsilx (Family)’ introduced listeners to songs sung partly in Nsyilxcən, his endangered Indigenous language. His follow-up, ‘Senklip, the Trickster’, extended those commitments to oral tradition, fatherhood, and intergenerational trauma. By the time of “Lived Experience in East Vancouver,” Baptiste’s voice carries the authority of an artist who has walked through these stories and returned with the music to tell them.
8:35 - 9:00 PM: LOCA - Cassandra Leone

Prado, AKA Prado Monroe, converts manic energy into magic. The pop luminary will turn on a dime from sweet to sadistic before doubling back all over again. On her 2021 debut Prado Monroe EP for tmwrk records, she flips the term “genre” upside down once and for all with a big smirk.Born in Vancouver, Canada on the unceded territory of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations, she is committed to the Black and Indigenous communities that raised her.
9:30- 10:00 PM: ANTINOTHING
ANTI-NOTHING, the fiery DJ who fearlessly embraces her provocative persona, crafting cacophonous beats that defy convention and cater to the delightfully disruptive. With an avant-garde edge, her music is a bold fusion of chaos and rhythm, irresistibly drawing in those who revel in the unconventional. Unapologetically catering to the audaciously annoying, ANTI-NOTHING's sets are a magnet for those who dare to dance on the fringes of societal norms.

Scarlett Eagle is a Vancouver-based artist working at the threshold between collapse and renewal. Drawing on the spiritual tension of the setting sun, her music combines original material with radical reinterpretations of well-known songs to fracture familiar narratives around power, shame, and identity. Her performances favor immediacy over polish, using restraint and confrontation to create moments of uneasy clarity.

Critical reception has matched the gravity of his work. CBC has praised him as “unsparingly candid,” while the Georgia Straight described his songs as “bluesy, bruised, and blossoming.” Such praise reflects not only the quality of his songwriting but the integrity with which he marries biography and artistry.

Born in Vancouver, Canada on the unceded territory of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations peoples. Of Metis (Ukrainian and indigenous) decent, her mom hails from the North End of Winnipeg – Point Douglas. Meanwhile her father immigrated from Buenaventura, Colombia to Vancouver in the early 90s.
Prado Monroe was gifted her first guitar and quickly started self producing and releasing music on Soundcloud under the moniker of “Alienkanye” at a prolific pace. The singer-songwriter, multi instrumentalist and producer began leading pen to various artists; she was the contagious melodies behind various NY-based male internet rappers – further unearthing her love and disposition to wordplay and pop music, PM learned to lead without fear using her unique sound and no-bullshit delivery.
Each cover was shot at “THOTFUL” – A photography, dance and recording studio located in Vancouver, British Columbia. The studio is founded with her sister “Zuleyyma” with a shared mission/vision to create incubator programs for disadvantaged minorities and uplift promising LGBTQ2S+ and BIPOC artists in Canada.
