New(to)Town Collective: Summer Training Jam with Jeanette Kotowich

Guest Facilitator, Jeanette Kotowich’s Bio:

Jeanette is a multi-disciplinary iskwew, independent dance artist, creator, choreographer and Auntie Culture enthusiast of Cree, Metis and mixed settler ancestry. My work references Nehiyaw cosmology, protocol, de-colonial practices, ritual, relationship to the natural/spirit world and Ancestral knowledge. My practice is intergenerational and vocational; it’s a living and lived experience (more at movementhealing.ca).

Workshop Offering:

Let’s gather in time and space – to connected with embodied practices and inhabit land, landscape and site as individuals and a collective. Bring your courageous hearts as we intentionally explore specific values to nourish our practices – being identified in my research of Cree / Nehiyaw cosmology. Together we will stroke our fires with compassion, kindness, bravery and joy.
