Born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to Gambian parents, Eye-sha’s music draws inspiration from the vocal stylings of traditional Gambian Griots and modern R&B, creating a truly unique and genre-defying sound which she describes as Avante Garde R&B. Her music has garnered comparisons to contemporary artists like Nao and Dawn Richard, while her rich alto tone evokes memories of a young Toni Braxton. Most Recently Eye-Sha has been acknowledged by Exclaim Magazine, which included her on its prestigious list of eight emerging Canadian artists to watch. Currently, Eye-Sha is focused on her debut album, which is scheduled to be released in 2024.
